Bird Experts!

We had two very special guests today at Garfield. Mary Anne McLean and Aura Dukes, from the Thorn Creek Audubon, came to talk to the fourth, fifth and sixth graders about native Illinois birds.

"The mission of the Thorn Creek Audubon Society is to promote the enjoyment and appreciation of birds, to educate adults and children concerning our natural environment, to preserve, protect and restore wildlife habitat, and to create awareness of local conservation issues."

They did just that! Both students and teachers were amazed at the knowledge and experience that Mary Anne and Aura had. We were thrilled that they came to our school!

THANK YOU!

Mrs. Dukes even showed us what an owl call sounded like!

Thanks again!
