Rhodia, a local chemical plant in Chicago Heights, has partnered with Garfield elementary to offer the students an amazing opportunity. The students will be competing in an exciting contest where they will be researching and designing a greenhouse and a terrace. The students will also be incorporating exciting information about:
* Solar and wind energy
* Native birds and plants and
* Architectural design
Rhodia will judge the contest and pick the best design to build the greenhouse and terrace in Chicago Heights this summer. They will dedicate the finished product to our school!
This is a wonderful opportunity and the students are very lucky to be a part of such a big event. Both the students and staff are very excited about the project. We will keep you informed as this project unfolds!
